iChore Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information (“Personal Information”) and the terms and conditions of your use of the iChore’s website and mobile applications ("iChore Platform") operated by iChore, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our iChore Platform, you agree to the terms and conditions set forth in this Policy.


1. Personal Information Collection and Use



1.1. Information We Collect.

We may collect Personal Information from customer (“Customers”) or chorer (“Chorer”) users (“User(s)”) in various ways, including but not limited to:


1.1.1. Registration Information.

When you create an account on our iChore Platform, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and other necessary information.


1.1.2. Profile Information.

We may collect additional information that you choose to provide in your User profile, such as your address, skills, qualifications, and preferences.


1.1.3. Transaction Information.

When you engage in transactions on our iChore Platform, we may collect information about the chores requested, payment details, and other relevant transactional information.


1.1.4. Communication Information.

We may collect information from your communications with other Users or with us, including messages, feedback, and support requests.


1.1.5. Content Information . You also may choose to send iChore Personal Information in an email or chat message containing inquiries about the iChore Platform and we use this Personal Information to help us respond to your inquiry. We also collect content within any messages you exchange with other Users through the iChore Platform (such as through our chat functionality).


1.1.6. Location Data.

Location data including imprecise location data (such as location derived from an IP address or data that indicates a city or postal code level), and, with your consent, precise location data (such as latitude/longitude data). When you visit the iChore Platform via a native mobile application, we use, with your consent when required under applicable law, GPS technology (or other similar technology) to determine your current location to determine the city you are in and display a relevant location map. We will not share your current location obtained in this manner with other Users.


1.2. Use of Personal Information.

We may use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:


1.2.1. Providing Chores.

To facilitate and process your transactions, communicate with you, and provide the requested chores through our iChore Platform.


1.2.2. iChore Platform Improvement .

To analyze and improve our iChore Platform, enhance user experience, and develop new features and functionalities.


1.2.3. Marketing and Communications.

To send you promotional materials, updates, and information about our chores, unless you opt out of such communications.


1.2.4. Compliance and Legal Obligations .

To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes, and protect our rights, property, and the safety of our Users.


2. Information Sharing and Disclosure



2.1. Data Use.

We use your data to connect you with other Users to enable the posting of selection for, completion of, and payment for Chores, to fulfill Chores to Customers.


2.2. Billing.

For billing and fraud prevention, based on our legitimate interests in ensuring a safe and secure environment in which Customers and Chorers can meet and perform chores, and to comply with our legal obligations.


2.3. Background Check.

To conduct identification and criminal background checks, if applicable and to the extent permitted by local law, on Users, in order to advance our legitimate interests as well as for the substantial public interest of ensuring the safety of our Users both online and offline, preventing or detecting unlawful acts, protecting the public against dishonesty, and maintaining the integrity of the iChore Platform given that Chorer often interact directly with Customers and may enter their homes or space.


2.4. Sharing with Service Providers.

We may share your Personal Information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our iChore Platform, such as payment processors, customer support providers, and hosting services. These service providers are contractually obligated to manage your information securely and only use it for the purposes specified by us.


2.5. Sharing with Other Users.

Certain information, such as your profile information, may be visible to other Users of the iChore Platform to facilitate the provision of chores. However, we do not share your contact information without your explicit consent.


2.6. Legal Requirements and Protection.

We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or if we believe that such disclosure is necessary to enforce our terms and conditions, protect our rights, investigate fraud or illegal activities, or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or government request.


3. Security Measures.



We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and taking appropriate measures to protect your personal information. We only share the Information we collect about you as described in this Policy or as described at the time of collection or sharing, including as follows:


3.1. Third-Party Links and Services.

Our iChore Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated or controlled by us or to courts, law enforcement, governmental or public authorities, tax authorities. This Policy does not apply to the practices of those third-party websites or services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.


3.2. Promotions .

When you voluntarily enter a sweepstakes, contest, or other promotion, we share information as set out in the official rules that govern the promotion as well as for administrative purposes and as required by law (e.g., on a winners’ list). By entering a promotion, you agree to the official rules that govern that promotion, and may, except where prohibited by applicable law, allow the sponsor and/or other entities to use your name, voice, and/or likeness in advertising or marketing materials. We may occasionally contact you, if you want us to, with information about special events, activities, promotions, contests, submission opportunities, and programs. You always have the ability, in your account, to ask iChore not to contact you with this type of information.


3.3. Merger and/or Acquisition .

iChore reserves the right to share information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any proposed or actual merger, purchase, sale, or any other type of acquisition or business combination of all or any portion of our assets, or transfer of all or a portion of our business to another business.


3.4. Children's Privacy.

Our iChore Platform is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly gather Personal Information (as defined by the U.S. Children’s Privacy Protection Act, or “COPPA”) in a manner not permitted by COPPA. If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us, and we will take steps to remove the information from our records.


3.5. Public Areas .

Your profile on the iChore Platform consists of information about you, and may include information such as photographs, list of chores you can perform, reviews/ratings information, and other information, including your username (“Profile”). The information in your User Profile may be visible to all Users and the general public. If you choose to post or accept a chore via the iChore Platform, the contents of such listing will be viewable to Users on the iChore Platform.


4. Your Rights and Choices



4.1. Opting Out or Deactivation.

You may opt-out of receiving promotional communications from us, including promotional communications related to the iChore Platform, and request the removal of your Personal Information from our databases, or deactivate your account, by logging on to the iChore Platform.


4.2. Account Settings.

During registration you choose whether to receive marketing correspondence from iChore. You can edit this information anytime on your Profile.


4.3. Push Notifications.

You have the option to receive updates and relevant offers via push notifications in your app. These notifications can be configured in the settings of your mobile device at any time.


4.4. Updating Profile.

You have the right to access and update your iChore Profile at any time. However, changes to certain Profile information such as your age or name cannot be changed.


5. iChore’s Information Retention Policy.



We will retain personal data for as long as you are a User, and for such a longer period as may be in our legitimate interests and to comply with our legal obligations. We may also retain data from which you cannot directly be identified, for example if stored as a randomly generated identifier so we know the data relates to a single User, but we cannot identify that User. We use this kind of data for research purposes and to help us develop and improve the iChore Platform and the User experience, and we take appropriate measures to ensure you cannot be re-identified from this data.


6. User Information Security.



6.1. iChore Account.

Your iChore account is password-protected so that only you and authorized iChore employee have access to your account information. To maintain this protection, do not give your password to anyone. And, if you share a computer, ensure you sign out of your iChore account, this will help protect your information from unauthorized third parties.


6.2. iChore Security Practices.

iChore implements and maintains reasonable administrative, physical, and technical security safeguards to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. iChore has employees dedicated to maintaining this Privacy Policy and other privacy initiatives, periodically reviewing security, and making sure that every iChore employee is aware of our security practices. Nevertheless, transmission via the internet is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.


7. Changes to this Policy.



This Policy may be enhanced, reviewed, and updated periodically. iChore will endeavor to notify you of any material changes by email. iChore also encourages you to review this Policy on the iChore Platform.

If you have any questions about this Policy or the manner in which we or our third-party partner treats your Personal Information, the practices of the iChore Platform, or if you have technical problems, you may contact us. iChore’s employees will respond to all email questions from Users, including questions about the types of Personal Information stored on the iChore databasesPlatform, and requests to know, delete or rectify such Personal Information.


9. Jurisdiction-specific Provisions.



9.1. Residents of the United States of America.

Our collection, use, and retention of the Personal Information of U.S. Users is in accordance with applicable U.S. laws, as is our determination of what is deemed to be “personal data and/or information.” iChore expressly disclaims any liability that may arise should any other individuals obtain the information you submit to the iChore Platform.


9.2. Interest-Based Advertising in the United States.

For more information about interest-based ads, or to opt out of having your web-browsing information used for behavioral advertising purposes, please contact us.


9.3. iChore’s Security of Collected Information.

While iChore will use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the security of all Personal Information, we expressly disclaim any liability for any unauthorized access to or use of our secure servers and/or any and all Personal Information stored therein, and you agree to hold iChore harmless for any damages that may result therefrom. 9.4. California Residents.

Additional disclosures apply only to individuals who reside in California. The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) provides additional rights to know, delete and opt out, and requires business collecting or disclosing Personal Information to provide notice of the rights California residents have and can exercise.


9.5. California Notice of Collection.

We have collected Personal Information corresponding to the following categories enumerated in the CCPA, including within the last 12 months.


9.5.1. Identifiers, including name, address, email address, and an ID number assigned to your account.

9.5.2. User records, phone number, and billing address.

9.5.3. Demographic information, such as your age. This category includes pieces of Personal Information that also qualify as protected classification characteristics under other pre- existing California or federal laws.

9.5.4. Analytics and Advertising, including purchases and engagement with the iChore Platform.

9.5.5. Internet activity, including history of visiting and interacting with the iChore Platform, browser type, browser language and other information collected automatically.

9.5.6. Geolocation data, including location enabled services such as WiFi and GPS.

9.5.7. Inferences, including information about your interests and preferences.

9.5.8.We collect and use these categories of Personal Information to manage the iChore Platform.


9.6. Sale.

iChore does not generally sell information as the term “sell” is traditionally understood. However, to the extent “sale” under the CCPA is interpreted to include advertising technology activities, iChore’s Use of Personal Information, as a “sale,” we will comply with applicable law to such activity.


9.7. Right to Know and Delete.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know certain information about our data practices in the preceding 12 months. You have the right to request the following from us:


9.7.1. The categories of Personal Information we have collected about you.

9.7.2. The categories of sources from which the Personal Information was collected.

9.7.3. The categories of Personal Information about you we disclosed for a business purpose.

9.7.4. The categories of third parties to whom the Personal Information was disclosed for a business purpose.

9.7.5. The business or commercial purpose of collecting Personal Information.

9.7.6. The specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you; and

9.7.7. In addition, you have the right to delete the Personal Information we have collected from you; however, this is not an absolute right and iChore may have legal grounds for keeping such data.

11. Right to Non-Discrimination.



You have the right to non-discriminatory treatment by us, should you exercise any of your rights.


12. Shine the Light.



Users who are residents of California may request: a list of the categories of Personal Information disclosed by us to third parties during the immediately preceding calendar year for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes, and (ii) a list of the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed such information. To exercise a request, please contact us. Requests must include “California Shine the Light Request” in the subject line of the description and include your name, street address, city, state, and ZIP code. We may require additional information from you to allow us to verify your identity and are only required to respond to requests once during any calendar year. Please note that iChore is not required to respond to requests made by means other than through the provided email address.
